Believe it or not, you can now practice your yoga moves and drink beer at the same time. Currently popular in Berlin, beer yoga is slowly making its way into international territories. According to their website, Germany's BierYoga or BeerYoga is the "marriage of two great loves - beer and yoga. Both are centuries-old therapies for the mind, body, and soul."
If you think that this is going to be a silly, fun class…think again!

Founder of the practice, yogi Jhula writes on the website that "BeerYoga is fun but it's no joke. We take the philosophies of yoga and pair it with the pleasure of beer-drinking to reach your highest level of consciousness."

With Jhula by her side, Emily also one of the co-founders came up with the idea while thinking about their passions in life. They both agreed that they loved yoga and beer. So, why not combine the two and create an awesome, inventive idea.

Class takers can expect to do a series of "beer salutations" which requires the student to balance beer bottles on their heads. We can only image that this pose comes with the chime of glass crashing onto the ground. According to Vice, "regular swigs are as much a part of the sequences as inhaling or exhaling deeply, meaning that everyone is pleasantly tipsy and limber after 20 minutes." We are sure that confidence and almost-vomit levels increase as the class continues.
BeerYoga is expanding their classes to Australia. Two sessions have already taken place in Sydney. On the event page for the classes, it tells students to bring $10 for class and an "open mind and a love of beer." Yeah, we think we can do that! No word yet on if they classes will begin to expand to the United States, but considering how much we like beer here, it's only a matter of time.
