Parker County Jail Inmates Break Out of Cell – Prisoners Help Guard Who Had Heart Attack
Inmates at Texas' Parker County Jail managed to break out of their holding cell-so they could be good Samaritans. The one guard watching all of them was sitting right outside the cell when he slumped over and lost consciousness, apparently of a heart attack. WFAA-TV reports that the inmates took action, and may have saved his life.
At least eight prisoners managed to get out of the cell, and started banging on doors and walls, screaming for help, despite still being shackled. Deputies in the courtrooms upstairs came running. "They thought it was a fight," inmate Floyd Smith told the TV station. "They thought we were taking over."
